Why am I being alienated?

People seem to have a love hate relationship with me. One minute thy talk to me, the next I'm not even there. I like to experiment with different looks and recently I dyed my bangs black, cut them just above my eyebrows, and the rest of my hair is medium brown. Nothing big, just a tiny change. Well somehow at work everyone looks at me differently. Some won't even say hi to me or whatever. This is only a minor change. At this time in my life I want to find what best suits my personality. Also I love gothic things and the look but I haven't fully left the closet yet.

Why am I being alienated?

If people treat you differently for a tiny change, or even ANY change, they're NOT NOT NOT your real friends! They should like to talk to you because they like who you are! If that look fits your personality, go with it! Like it or not, you are yourself!

Why am I being alienated?

um there weird and dont die ur hair it ruins it and maybe they dont like emo peeps?

Why am I being alienated?

some people are just boring and don't get the concept of somebody being an individual. They are probably intimidated, becaue they lead a boring existence and can't fathom somebody that they think is the least bit different from what they consider normal.

Why am I being alienated?

Yeah, well,,, if you are sensitive to how people feel about you then goth is not a good look for you.

(not to suggest that it is a good look for anyone)

You think that you feel alienated now, just wait until you go full on goth.

People as a rule tend to feel really uncomfortable around people with the goth lifestyle so that may be your problem to begin with.

My advice would be to lose the goth thing first and see if that doesn't make a big difference in how people treat you.

Hanging chains and black baggy clothes does not good fashion sense make.

Why am I being alienated?

there is a girl on the bus..she likes gothic..wears those big pants..and all...and hangs out with the even weirder gothic girls.

i am one that likes all sorts of people and can get along with anyone.

but the way she talks and acts like a black person, then dresses like a gothic. i feel like shes confused. and i would much rather her portray only one personality. i still respect her. but in my head i dislike her. so if you slowly add those goth pieces into your life. and not nesesarily act goth. but dress more ,like it. and keep your niceness in your personality the right friends will be drawn to you, jsut dont act one way or another all the sudden. and if you want to be gothic, godang jsut do it!

good luck, :D

Why am I being alienated?

Why are you not talking to them first? Ask them if they like the change? Make it a subject of conversation. Ask them if they thing it is wierd and laugh about it. If you sit back and expect people to approach you there will always be some who won't approach you.

Why am I being alienated?

You've answered your own question, really. The reason people alienate you is because you dyed your bangs black. People are superficial, they assume the outside of the person reflects what is going on inside of the person, and, generally, this assumption is correct.

People fear goths and the culture that comes with it. This is because the stereotypical goth is a no-good Satan worshiping self hating vandal (unfair, like most stereotypes). Because of this, when you show even the slightest affinity to the goths, IE dyed bangs, they fear for you (the key word being "for"), and alienate you/

Why am I being alienated?

i think that people should like u for who u r. just ignore them.
