What should I do if I was unsatisfied with my color experience at a hair salon?

I was recommended to a salon, for a cut and color, where I've only had an updo done before. My hair was colored in October '06 with a semi-permanent medium brown (at another salon). When I went to the recommended salon today, I asked to have my hair color lightened (I know color cannot be lifted w/ color). Anyways, she dyes my roots a medium-dark blonde, but doesn't pull it all the way through. I thought she was just lifting out all of my color, to deposit a lighter one. Well, I wait until she's done blow drying my hair, thinking that maybe it won't look so bad. Well, I could blatantly see the blonde ring around the top of my head, and told her I didn't like the way it looked. Her exact words were that next time she'd suggest highlights or I have to wait for the semi-permanent to wash out. Well, I'm sure the semi-perm. isn't going to wash out anymore that it has after two months. I left, deciding I'd call if I decided I still hated it, and I don't like it. What should I do?

You should go back and ask for your money back! One of my friends had the same problem, she had died her hair black a long time ago and she wanted to go light brown. The haisdresser did the same thing! The color was only at the roots and the rest of her hair was still black, it looked horrible. You are allowed to ask for your money back if you hate what she did, or she should do it again for free. I suggest to ask for your money back because she screwed up your hair and you dont want her to do it again! Good luck!!

well first of u should give the salon a peice of ur mind if they ruined ur look they are not proffesinal.(NEVER GO THERE AGAIN) i have some options,

1 die the rest semi permanet blonde( i dies mine semi permanet red and it turned out great)

2 make a style to where it does not show

3 wash like 3 times a day

4dye your roots back (DUH)

5 make ur own options lol

Call the owner or manager of the salon. See if he/she will make it right for you by having a different person fix it. If not you must go to a different salon for a color correction. I know that you can have a bad experience any where but I think that if you go to a high end salon it lessens your chances of having a bad experience. A color correction can be expensive so really try to have the salon owner make it right for you. When you call let them know that it is just not like you don't like it but that the stylist damaged your hair color.

i would go back the salon and show them your hair that way the other stylists and clients can see it. tell them it is not what you asked for and if it needed to be highlighted then she should of told you before the service not after.they should rectify the problem if not ask for the manager if that doesn't work go to the owner .but it probably wont get that far.

Go back! I've had the exact same problem, except that she used a lightener, and did pull it all the way through, so the roots were blonde and the rest was orange!!! And then told me she didnt have time to blow dry it so I went home not realising!! I went back the next day and asked for a refund, I calmly explained that it just wasn't what I asked for.

So anyway, I suggest you do the same. Ask to talk to the salon manager because if it really looks like you've described, they are going to realise you didnt ask for blonde roots with brown hair, no one asks for that.

Get your money back and go somewhere that specilises in color correction. But I have to tell you, with my situation, they said all they could do was dye the whole lot dark again, becase lifting colour often leaves you with an orange tinge you just can't get rid of.

But it can be done, of course, you just might end up paying a lot and the hair could come out damaged.

you can have you hair color stripped( where they take all the color off) and you can get it re-done if you want to. go to a different salon. You should go back to that one and get your money back talk to the manager. If they don't do anything, stand outside of the door, and tell ppl to not go in
